“The first Washingtonian I met was pretty chill in his seat.” Hi, everyone. My name is Muhizi Ivan (he/him), and I’m cool with being called either of these names or even both. I was born and raised in Rwanda (a small country in east Africa) therefore taking my middle school and high school there too. I am now majoring in Mechanical Engineering here at CCNY. I dominantly speak English and Kinyarwanda (my native language) but I can also word out some basic French. I have issues in creativity, consistency and storytelling when it comes to writing. In my free time I like to watch and play sports. I am interested in European soccer and the NBA although I’m also starting to take an interest in boxing (mainly old school), fyi George Foreman is knocking out Mike Tyson any day. I usually play basketball and do long distance running when I feel out of shape. I wouldn’t say am a certified book reader, but I have taken interest in some writers and their works, my favorite being [Ngugi wa Thiong’o] and most of his work including “Decolonizing the Mind” and “The River Between”. I also like to watch or read documentaries on different stuff including some famous engineering projects, ancient myths, crime and so on. Nice to meet you.
